"Remind" app for BSS School Reminders
by Paul Hembling - Wednesday, 21 February 2018, 4:19 PM

In order to provide another method of communication between school and home, Barriere Secondary School has launched a presence using the "Remind" app/website.  By signing up for our service through Remind, which is free and does not disclose your personal info to us, you can receive timely updates from the school by text (through non-smartphones), the iOS/Android App for smartphones/tablets, or by regular email.  The instruction sheet for signing up is attached to this post.

Subscribe or unsubscribe to our Remind notifications at any time, right from your phone or computer - you can do this yourself without having to contact us.  This is a great way to be reminded of school events such as school photo days, Pro-D days, Parent-Teacher interviews, Report Cards, sporting events, etc. in a convenient, timely way.

If you need assistance with this, please drop by the office and we would be happy to help you set it up!

    Thank you,

    Paul Hembling, Principal

    Grade 7 Reconfiguration Consultation
by Paul Hembling - Friday, 16 February 2018, 4:13 PM

Thanks to all those parents and community members who came to Barriere Secondary Thursday evening for the first of two consultation sessions regarding the proposed movement of Grade 7 students from the elementary school to the high school starting in September, 2018.

Parents should have received an invitation from PlaceSpeak, the online feedback-gathering tool being used by the district to give parents and community members the opportunity to share their opinions and ideas and to ask questions.

If you haven't received the email sent today (Friday, February 16) please click on the link below for an opportunity to make your voice heard:

The platform will be open for input for a period of two weeks from today's date.  The second public consultation session will be held in the Barriere Secondary School library the evening of March 14, 2018 (everyone welcome). Thank you for sharing your views!
